Stones and Stories

Thursday, July 18, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Have you ever wandered into a cemetery and wondered how it got started?  Was there a church attached or was it a family burial ground?  Wondered why it seems neglected, abandoned and alone in the weeds?

Burial grounds are a genealogist’s dream and just plain interesting if you can read the writing, figure out the spelling and get an idea of the date on the stone.

There’s often the thrill of discovering a forgotten relative, finding odd names or realizing that ‘something’ happened because so many stones share the same year of death.

Come learn how to ‘read’ a cemetery near you.
