You Can Study for the High School Equivalency Diploma Test at the Mamakating Library

A program designed to prepare you to take the New York State approved High School Equivalency test, called TASC, is available every other Monday in the library. Please call for dates.

TASC is free to New Yorkers who need a High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE), formerly called GED. The Mamakating Library opportunity is a Distance Learning Home Study Program, provided by Sullivan County BOCES Adult and Continuing Education.

Candidates may use up to four passing GED sub-tests taken between 2002 and 2013 to count towards earning an HSE Diploma. If a candidate has already passed all five GED sub-tests but did not attain the minimum total score of 2250, such candidates must pass at least one of the TASC sub-tests to obtain an HSE Diploma. The TASC exam is given at Sullivan BOCES in Liberty four times per year.

To register, call the library at (845)888-8004.
