The Mamakating Library is the learning center of our community and the place people turn to for the discovery of ideas, the joy of reading and the power of information. Community needs drive our services and we take personal interest in ensuring that they are delivered in a welcoming, convenient and responsive manner. Adopted April 2009.

Trustee Vacancies

Petitions for the office of member of the board of trustees of the Mamakating Library are available at the library. There are three vacancies on the board due to an end of term and the expansion of the board to seven members. Elections will take place on Tuesday August 31, 2010. Stop by the library for petitions and more information.

Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading Logs can be picked up this Saturday, kids can document how much time, pages, or books read each week. Activities will begin on Tuesday the 29th from 2:30 to 4:30pm. Reading, crafts, and games will be on Tuesdays at this time throughout the summer. Join us for the fun.

The Town of Mamakating Library District is in association with the Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS). By working cooperatively with RCLS we are provided with coordinated services, guidance, training, support and leadership. It is our goal to be a responsive, proactive, vital community institution that meets the changing needs of our patrons in Sullivan County. Come read with us!
