Our next afternoon book club meeting will be Wednesday, November 18th at 4 p.m. in the Community Room. The book discussed will be “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Come pick up one of the books and join us!
Please note: This is the THIRD Wednesday of the month due to Thanksgiving preparation!
Also, if you are interested, we have an evening book group starting up in December:
FICTION & FOODIES which will meet the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m.
Our kick-off will be Thursday, December 10th at 7 p.m.
Here’s how it works:
Each book group member will cook something of their choice from the month’s chosen cookbook (ie. Cmas-themed recipes, vegetarian recipes, Irish cooking, French cooking, etc). We will enjoy that month’s “pot luck” while discussing that month’s cookbook. Then in alternating month’s we will read a food-themed fiction book (ie. one of Joanne Fluke’s Plum Pudding murder mysteries as an example).
If you plan on trying this group out in December, please stop by to pick up our kick-off selection: “The Frugal Gourmet Celebrates Christmas”. We have a number of copies on hold.
